We create and provide a safe place for the children to grow, develop coping mechanisms, learn emotional self or co-regulation, achieve progression and success as well as having access to opportunity including socialisation/leisure and learning life/independent skills that will prepare them for their future.

We actively involve the children in shaping and enjoying their time with us. North Lakes seeks to improve, learn and look forwards – the same values we have for all the children.

Why work with us?

We offer continuous training and development opportunities to the people in our team. We can only achieve what we do because of the passion, talent and knowledge of our people. Working at North Lakes, you will be joining a supportive and collaborative team which recognises you as an individual.

Each member of staff has a professional development plan and is supported by a variety of training opportunities that continue to develop their personal skills and knowledge. This is supported by individual supervision programmes that are designed to ensure all staff receive regular supervision and have access to further support if identified as a need.

As an organisation we recognise the importance of investing in staff to help them provide outstanding care and outcomes for the young people they look after.

Staff say they feel very supported by their registered manager and senior managers. Good communication, regular supervision and opportunities for frequent consultation are identified by most staff to be the key supports they benefit from. These have clearly influenced the team members in their reflective practice.

Ofsted, 2021

There has been minimal staff turnover since the last inspection. New staff recruited have fitted in well with the existing team and been warmly welcomed by the children. Staff show genuine interest in the children they care for, and are committed to maintaining a high standard of child-centred care that enables children to achieve excellent outcomes.

Ofsted, 2021

Staff report feeling extremely well supported throughout the period since the home’s last inspection. Supervision has been regularly maintained. Staff say that they have had regular meetings and that information has frequently been shared by managers to support them to feel confident throughout a very difficult time [Covid 19]. Ongoing training opportunities have mostly been online, but staff have embraced these.

Ofsted, 2021

Staff spoke highly of their manager and said that they feel exceptionally well supported in this home. Examples given have included the manager undertaking additional tasks for them, allowing staff to focus their time and energy solely on the children.
