Welcome to North Lakes Children’s Services
We offer attachment and trauma informed care to young people via therapeutic children’s residential homes. We also run an independent specialist school where we work primarily with pupils who have difficulties around their social interaction, emotions and/or their mental health.
Residential Children’s Homes and Specialist School
Our homes promote a safe and nurturing group living environment. We have the flexibility and scope to match the presenting needs and behaviours of a young person with the most appropriately skilled care team and home location.
Our school pupils are supported by individual programmes and planning. We have a comprehensive assessment and tracking system so pupils are taught at a level which leads them to thrive.
Residential Care
We have four homes providing 52 week 1:1 residential care for boys aged 6-16. We aim to enable young people to feel safe, process early childhood experiences and build personal resilience so they can enjoy a bright future.
Education
We believe education is about developing the whole person. Planning engaging activities helps our pupils develop knowledge and skills, resulting in self-confident pupils ready for more independent futures.
Therapy
Forming positive relationships and providing safety are at the centre of our therapeutic care. From this nurturing foundation children can begin to see the world through a new lens to make positive and lasting changes in their lives.
“The highly nurturing & therapeutic approach taken by staff helps young people understand their feelings and explore alternative ways to express themselves.”
Our Homes
Kirby Moor School
Kirby Moor School has two sites where we educate pupils aged 7-18. Each class of up to six pupils is led by a qualified teacher and at least one learning support assistant. Our pastoral teams facilitate individual programmes of support and pupils have access to additional support.
We are strongly focussed on careers related learning to help develop skills and aspirations for future life goals.
Careers
To achieve the extraordinary ambition we have for our young people, we know it takes a passionate team who share the same vision – to see children follow their dreams and reach their full potential. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all our staff to share this commitment.
We offer competitive salaries across all job roles, company pensions, access to our employee discount scheme, comprehensive training programmes and more.
